In built up areas especially, there is a need to suppress noise generated by machinery or from other sources such as underground car parks, whether the need to suppress noise is required by regulation or not. Often the best escape route for noise into the surrounding area is through ventilation channels.
Acoustic louvres are one solution to this, and HVC acoustic louvres enable effective reduction of noise transfer, without hindering the operation of ventilation systems.

HVC Series AL Acoustic Louvres are perfect for any situation where ventilation channels require equipment to cut the amount of noise transfer to the outside. Like the standard weather louvre range, acoustic weather louvres retain a 50% free area, meaning the luxury of noise reduction does not come at the expense of system performance.
If construction has already been completed, the compact 300mm or 600mm depth of Series AL louvres means they are also useful in retro-fit installations, where unexpected noise must be curtailed.
Available in Series AL (300mm deep, single bank) and AL2 (600mm deep, chevron double bank), a unique 2 part blade design is the secret behind the Series AL louvre's wide spectrum noise reduction properties. With a large hollow section created when the two profiles are assembled, a core of fire retardant Rockwool can be inserted. Held in place with shaped mesh, sound is effectively absorbed by the insulation, preventing transfer.
Acoustic louvres however are not just functional objects like fire dampers, more often than not they are visible from ground level, so appearance should be considered carefully. With the ability to powder coat to any RAL or BS colour, and manufacture custom shaped units, there is no reason an AL Acoustic Louvre from HVC should not match its surroundings perfectly.
Ok, so you've read about our acoustic louvres, but you need integrated volume control, or perhaps bird or insect mesh? No problem. See the options tab above to find out how HVC can custom build your louvre to exactly the specifications you need.
