Ductwork is often the perfect way for a fire to spread easily through a building, normal safety features like fire doors and sprinklers are not able to prevent the spread of fire through these spaces.
S100AGH Fire Dampers are designed and built to prevent the spread of flames through ducting. This performance is backed up by a range of BS and ISO certification for total peace of mind.

S100AGH Fire Dampers are simply a S100AG Fire Damper with a HEVAC or plasterboard fixing frame surrounding the unit. These frames are designed to completely bond the fire damper into the surrounding masonry, hence helping the duct, wall and damper to resist the extreme distortion that would occur in a fire. Industry wide, HEVAC frames are generic and all, including HVC's must conform to Spec. HVC6/5/83.
S100AGH Fire Dampers are constructed from galvanised steel throughout, and have a blade pack which protrudes into the airstream during normal operation. This results in a space saving design with no need for a blade containing section. The fact that blades do enter the airstream means that we only recommend S100AGH Fire Dampers are used in systems with a low air speed inside the ductwork.
Regulations and the need to protect buildings and their contents demand that only high quality fire dampers can be used for a building to be deemed safe. All HVC S100 Fire Dampers are backed up by a full bank of BS and ISO tests designed to prove a fire dampers worthiness including BS1366-2 (ISO10294-1), BS476-20.
In a real building however, fire dampers can be subjected to the build up of dust and dirt over many years. In a fire therefore, performance of any fire dampers can be compromised, and the dampers may fail entirely. HVC realise that access into ductwork to clean dampers is sometimes difficult, so S100 Fire Dampers have undergone extensive dust loading, reliability and cycling tests. All tests ended with the damper being closed, and latching correctly.
Our philosophy has always been that you only pay for what you want. If you want a standard fire damper with no added extras we can supply it. Sometimes though options are required: Remote operation enabling electromagnets and solenoids are available, and will be fitted in house to your S100AGH. Remote and visual position indicators, resettable links and others are all also available.

Don't Need an Installation Frame?
You may not need a HEVAC or plasterboard fixing frame. S100AG Fire Dampers are therefore more suitable |
|
Corrosive Substances Present?
If exposure to substances like salt or chlorine is likely, S100AM Fire Dampers with their stainless steel blade pack are more suitable |
|
Circular Spigot
S100AGH Fire Dampers are designed for square ducting systems. For circular systems S100CGH Fire Dampers are required |
|
Mid to High Velocity Airstream?
With a blade pack held outside the airstream, S100BGH Fire Dampers are essential in anything but low velocity systems |
