Series 100 Fire Damper Model DG

Flat oval spigot, All galvanised steel construction, Blades out of airstream

Fire dampers are an absolute necessity in modern buildings. They prevent fire being able to spread through ductwork, buying valuable time for evacuations to take place and fire crews to move in.

Only top quality fire dampers like HVC's S100DG conform to BS and ISO standards, so you always know you have the best equipment installed, and therefore the best chance of saving lives and buildings during a fire.

Application

  • Endurance Tested to BS476-20 by Warrington F.R.C. for 6 hours with guaranteed closure in both vertical and horizontal planes
  • Tested to the latest BS1366-2 (ISO10294-1) for the maximum 4 hours at 300 Pascals by the Building Research Establishment
  • Flat oval spigot
  • All galvanised steel construction
  • Blades out of airstream

S100DG Fire Dampers have a flat oval spigot to facilitate connection into oval ductwork. The spigot protrudes 45mm from the body of the damper, giving easily enough area to form a tight joint.

With a blade pack held entirely out of the airstream, S100DG Fire Dampers can be used in any velocity airstream, with very little turbulence caused by the fire damper. Incorporating a galvanised steel frame and blades means these dampers should only be used in areas free of corrosive substances.

Description

All S100 Fire Dampers have undergone extensive fire testing, and all conform to BS1366-2 (ISO10294-1), a test demanding integrity to be maintained during a four hour fire test at 300 Pa. BS476-20, a six hour endurance test at ambient pressure has also been passed. As have DW144 leakage tests.

Fire tests however do nothing to recreate the effects of years of exposure to dust which may be present in the airstream. Or the effects of dozens of cycles during regular maintenance. We have subjected S100 Fire Dampers to rigorous tests, simulating dust loading and cycling, to ensure dampers will always function as expected.

Ok, so you know all about the tests we've done, but you want electromagnets fitted, so you can fire the damper remotely, even without it being exposed to fire. No problem, see the options tab above for information on what we can fit to your S100DG Fire Damper.

Options

Visual Position Indicator

Allows the blade pack position to be observed from outside ductwork

Microswitch

Creates an electrical circuit when the blade pack closes, informing systems that a fire may have caused the damper to close

Solenoid

Releases the fusible link when power is gained, closing the damper remotely

Electromagnet

Releases the fusible link when power is lost, enabling remote damper operation

Fusible Link

As an alternative to the standard 72°C rating, 96°C, 145°C and 183°C are available on request
