If you have a ventilation system in a large building, then you almost certainly need fire dampers.

Intended not to extinguish the fire, but to stop it spreading through ductwork to other areas, high quality fire dampers like our own S100DSH can be the different between a localised fire causing minimal damage, and a widespread fire bringing massive destruction and possibly loss of life.

Application

  • Endurance Tested to BS476-20 by Warrington F.R.C. for 6 hours with guaranteed closure in both vertical and horizontal planes
  • Tested to the latest BS1366-2 (ISO10294-1) for the maximum 4 hours at 300 Pascals by the Building Research Establishment

With both the frame (Not fixing frame) and blades manufacture from either 430, 316 or 304 grade stainless steel, S100DSH Fire Dampers have an exceptional level of corrosion resistance, far surpassing that of DGH and DMH models.

The flat oval spigot, protruding 45mm past the damper body allows fitment into flat oval ducting systems, while the blade pack, held entirely outside of the airstream during normal operation allows use in airstreams of any velocity.

Description

With a fully stainless steel construction, you would expect exceptional resistance to corrosion, and you would be right. S100 Fire Dampers have undergone a 20% salt spray for 120 hours, and afterwards been found to operate perfectly.

Fire tests carried out on S100 Fire Dampers were also just as successful. Both BS1366-2 (ISO10294-1) and BS476-20 have been satisfied by independent test houses, as have DW144 leakage tests.

HEVAC or Plasterboard

HEVAC and Plasterboard fixing frames are available for fitment to all S100 Fire Dampers

Stainless Grades

As standard Grade 430 is used to manufacture all stainless steel fire dampers, however 316 and 304 can be specified for even greater corrosion resistance

Visual Position Indicator

Allows the blade pack position to be observed from outside ductwork

Microswitch

Creates an electrical circuit when the blade pack closes, informing systems that a fire may have caused the damper to close

Solenoid

Releases the fusible link when power is gained, closing the damper remotely

Electromagnet

Releases the fusible link when power is lost, enabling remote damper operation

Fusible Link

As an alternative to the standard 72°C rating, 96°C, 145°C and 183°C are available on request

Fully Stainless Too Much?

If the superb corrosion resistance of S100ASH Fire Dampers is not needed, S100DMH Fire Dampers with their galvanised steel frame are more suitable

Don't Need an Installation Frame?

If a HEVAC or Plasterboard fixing frame is not required, S100DS Fire Dampers are therefore more suitable
