Laminar Flow Panel Type LFP

Completely the opposite to most diffusers, laminar flow panels are designed not to mix supplied air with resident air immediately.

Provided the supplied air is filtered, this creates a clean zone in the throw, free from contamination.

Application

  • Highly suitable for clean room applications
  • Provides a stable downward throw of air
  • Best combined with a full air filtration system in clean rooms

Series LFP Laminar Flow Panels create an incredibly stable downward throw, without drawing resident air into the supplied air. By doing this, you create an area where the only air within that space has been supplied through the panel.

Therefore, if you can filter the air to a sufficient degree before it enters the room, you create an area completely clean of particulates and even bacteria depending on the degree of filtration. Operating theatres, laboratories and clean rooms are just some of the areas Laminar Flow Panels are designed to be installed in.

Description

Constructed from perforated steel plate, shaped with upturns at each side, Type LFP Laminar Flow Panels are incredibly simple units. Each panel comes with a 100mm deep plenum box ready affixed to the unit, which normally has a single 300mm diameter top entry spigot, although this can be specced differently.

Laminar Flow Panels are sized in multiples of 600mm square tile replacer sizes, and so fit perfectly into a 600mm square ceiling tile system. They are also available with an exterior frame, with 25mm flat and 32mm bevelled flanges available should they be required.

There are no accessories available for direct fitting to laminar flow panels other than the frame option. Any volume control equipment is recommended to be placed within ducting rather than in the plenum box, in order to avoid turbulence being created which can adversely effect the stable downward throw.
