Sometimes fire doors, alarms and suppressing systems are not enough, and fire finds its way into ventilation systems. Once within ducting, flames have free reign over where they can travel, often with a single system servicing a whole building.
High quality fire dampers like our own S100CGH are designed to shut down ductwork with a steel curtain, stopping the spread of flames and keeping the fire localised.

S100CGH Fire Dampers come with either a HEVAC or plasterboard fixing frame, designed to hold the damper securely within the partition wall or floor. These frames impart the strength of the damper to the surrounding structure and visa versa, helping to fight the extreme forces which may be exerted due to expansion of materials during a fire.
These dampers have a galvanised steel circular spigot, to make fitting the damper to circular spiral or flexible ducting possible. They also come with blades housed entirely outside of the airstream, allowing S100CGH Fire Dampers to be used in any velocity airstream.
Certification is essential for any fire damper, and as a customer you need to be certain that what you buy is up to the job. HVC S100 Fire Dampers have been subjected to an array of tests, namely BS1366-2 (ISO10294-1) and BS476-20.
In the real world though, dampers are not brand new, and may have been cycled dozens of times during normal maintenance. So how does this affect the ability of a fire damper to perform in fire? HVC S100 Fire Dampers have undergone dust loading, reliability and spring cycling tests, so you have peace of mind that even after years of sitting idle, your dampers are still as effective as the day they were made.
Further options are available for your S100CGH Fire Damper, to truly suit it to your needs. Don't Need an Installation Frame?
You may not need a HEVAC or plasterboard fixing frame. S100CG Fire Dampers are therefore more suitable |
|
Corrosive Substances Present?
If exposure to substances like salt or chlorine is likely, S100CMH Fire Dampers with their stainless steel blade pack are more suitable |
|
Square/Rectangular Spigot
S100CGH Fire Dampers are designed for circular ducting systems. For square systems S100BGH Fire Dampers are required |
|
Flat Oval Spigot
Perhaps you need a flat oval spigot not circular. S100DGH Fire Dampers will be of more use to you |
