Designed to separate airborne sand and dust, with up to 92.5% effectiveness when tested to BS EN 13181:2001.
Designed to act as a first stage filter for ventilation systems in areas with high levels of airborne dust or sand, sand trap louvres are certified to separate out up to 92.5% of airborne particles from airflow, preventing them from entering ventilation systems and causing damage or clogging other filtration equipment.
The open-ended blade design prevents clogging of the louvre, in contrast to the use of drain holes which are prone to becoming blocked. Options include rear-mounted volume control dampers plus polyester powder coating to any RAL or BS colour. A number of additional filters can be fitted to further enhance efficiency, such as medium efficiency G2 filters, right up to high-efficiency F8 models. Installed in a removable aluminium frame, these filters are easy to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the louvre.
Utilising two sets of interlocking vertical channels which prevent any direct line through the louvre, sand trap louvres are self-cleaning, dropping any caught particles directly onto a slanted cill from where they are ejected through the face of the louvre.

Sand trap louvres are performance tested to BS EN 13181:2001 by BSRIA.
